6 Events to Check out in 2014

Happy 2014/1435 everyone, it has been a while since my last blog post, I do apologize for that! But, what are your plans for this year? Below are 10 things to check out this year:


1. Winter Olympics 2014

The winter Olympics will be held from the 7th till the 23rd of February in Sochi, Russia. It will include 88 nations and over 2,500 athletes. What to anticipate the most? The Fisht Olympic Stadium, I mean have you seen it? Hot. Cool. Yours.


2. The Oscars

The 86th Academy Awards will be hosted by Ellen Degeneres and held on the 2nd of March, 2014. This years nominees are topped by American Hustle  and Gravity, 10 nomination each, including Best Motion Picture. What are you predictions for this years Oscars?


3. FIFA World Cup 2014

The most anticipated sport event for this year is the World Cup which will be held from the 12th of June till the 13th of July in 12 cities in Brazil. It will include 32 nations. Check out the groups and matches over here.


4. World War I 100th Anniversary

100 years ago, on the 28th of July, 1914, the world went into chaos after the global war started in Europe and lasted for over4 years causing long years of trauma and depression on the area.


5. New Horizon crossing Neptune

According to NASA’s calculations, on the 24th of August, 2014 the spacecraft New Horizon will cross the orbit of Neptune which is the farthest planet from the Sun in the Solar System. New Horizon been traveling for 8 years to reach Pluto (previously a planet!) in 2015.


6. Troops withdraw from Afghanistan

On the 31st of December, 2014, the United States and United Kingdom troops are scheduled to withdraw from Afghanistan after their 13 years of involvement in the area.
